Lavandula stoechas also called French, Spanish or Butterfly Lavender, is recognisable by its bunny ears on top of the flowers. It’s used extensively for essential oils or potpourri, and is a superb landscape plant for the home garden, flowering for many months. Varieties include Avonview, Major and Bee Brilliant. Flower colours include green, purple, blue, white, pink and bicoloured. It is more drought tolerant than other lavender types, tolerates higher temperatures than the Angustifolias and grows in a wider range of soil types.
